The portal would be a platform primarily for software and hardware professionals, networking and system administrators, graphics and animation designers, BPO/call centre/ITES employees, telecom experts, employees of IT departments of all business organisations and technology students, portal Executive Director Ram Mohan told reporters here. He said the online platform would help in exchanging ideas and innovations, improve technical and professional skills among the techies around the world.
The portal would have features like blogs, text/audio and video chat, online clubs, events, classifieds, video sharing, games and web profiles, he added.
In future, the space would also include job openings and mentoring techniques for the IT professionals. ''The portal would also help the IT students to guide their professional pathway.'' Mr Mohan said the information posted would be screened by a strong back-end office and registration and usage of the portal was absolutely free of charge and the source of income would be through general advertisements.
The portal, which was online for the last two months on a trial basis, generated good response among the professionals and presently there were 300 members, he added.
