POK PM condemned for demanding conversion of LoC into 'Line of Commerce'
Islamabad, June 24 : Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Secretary-General Syed Munawar Hasan has strongly condemned the statement of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan pleading to convert the Line of Control (LoC) into a Line of Commerce.
In a statement on Monday, Munawar Hassan termed it a calculated move to sabotage the freedom struggle of Kashmiris and reinforce the Indian stance.
He said that even today the people are sacrificing their lives in Kashmir to liberate their homeland from Indian yoke, The News reported.
Hassan said people like Sardar Atiq who, Munawar Hasan said, had no role whatsoever in the freedom struggle inside Kashmir, cannot be allowed to play dirty politics here in Pakistan.
He held President Pervez Musharraf responsible for creating a wedge in the ranks of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and sidelining the genuine Kashmiri leadership like Syed Ali Geelani.
Hassan said Pervez Musharraf purposely promoted a young Kashmiri Mirwaiz Omar Farooq by extending him state invitations to visit Pakistan time and again while on the other hand, veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani cannot even perform Hajj due to Indian constraints.
The proposal of converting LoC into Line of Commerce at a time when Omar Farooq was in Pakistan, was part of great conspiracy, which could open new vistas of operation for the agents of Indian intelligence RAW against Kashmiris, he feared.
The Indians, he alleged, are already operative in areas close to Pak-Afghan borders inside Afghanistan.
