Parliamentary team to visit Kolkata
Kolkata, Jun 24 (UNI) A Parliamentary Standing Committee Team on Personnal, Public grievances, Law and Justice, headed by its chairman Dr E M Sudarsan Natchiappan will meet various political party leaders and government officials here to assess their views on Women Reservation Bill.
The team is expected here tonight and would spend next three days meeting officials and party representatives for 108th Amendment Bill-2008, popularly known as ''Women Reservation Bill''.
The officials will discuss the bill with the state Chief Secretary, political parties, representatives of the state government, organisations and the individuals.
They would also discuss the Right To Information (RTI) Act and the reservation policy with Public Sector Undertakings like Coal India Ltd, Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd, Kolkata Port Trust, and banks like Allahabad Bank, UCO Bank, and United Bank of India.
Discussion on the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Bill, 2008 with the Bar Council, Bar Association of the High Court is also on the Committee's agenda, a source said today.
