First witness deposes in Haj House Imam case
Mumbai, Jun 24 (UNI) Deposing before a fast track court in the Haj House Imam Gulam Yahya case today, the first prosecution witness police sub inspector Atmaram Khere said they had arrested three Kashmiri militants from Sagar Hotel at Nagpada here, on the basis of secret information.
The Iman Gulam Yahya has been accused of harbouring the three militants.
Mr Khere, belonging to the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), revealed the information during his examination by special public prosecutor Raja Thakre, while deposing before Additional sessions Judge S D Agarwal.
The Imam is facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and under the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act. He, however, has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.
This case preceded the serial train blasts that took place on July 11, 2006.
Yahya, who was arrested on January 13, 2006, is currently lodged in the Arthur Road Jail.
