Dhoni dismisses 'favourites' tag

By Staff

Lahore, Jun 24 (UNI) Brushing aside the tag of favourites, Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has said the Men in Blue will have to perform their best to win the Asia Cup.

''It's not about we are favourites, you have to perform to your potential and keep the momentum to win the tournament,'' Dhoni told mediapersons yesterday ahead of the opening of the six-nation event.

''It will be important for all the sides to perform well to win this event,'' he added.

Dhoni informed that Irfan Pathan has suffered a side strain and is likely to miss India's opening match against Hong Kong tomorrow.

''It's not a concern but Pathan has a side strain and we may rest him in the first match but he will be OK by the second game,'' the skipper said.
