Samastipur, Jun 24: The Bihar government is committed to improving the information system in the state to enable the masses to have easy access to the ongoing welfare schemes.
State Information minister Ramnath Thakur told reporters here last night that Soochna Bhawans (Information Bhawan) would be constructed in all districts of Bihar, which would be equipped with modern gadgets for faster circulation of requirsite information about the welfare schemes.
In second phase, such centres would also be established at block levels where people would be free to seek details about the ongoing projects in their respective areas, he added.
'' For Soochna Bhawan in Samastipur, fund of Rs 15 lakhs had been sanctioned and all the formalities in this regard had been completed,'' Mr Thakur said, adding thaa the construction works of the Soochna Bhawan would begin from July 15.
''Our department has initiated several steps to inform the people about the achievements of the state government and also the measures taken to help the commoners in getting benefits of the various welfare schemes,'' he said.
When asked about the facilities for journalists to send news stories, Mr Thakur said the state government had directed the officials to take steps to provide the required infrastructure to the scribes in sending their reports, covering the events in their respective areas.
