Chandigarh, Jun 24 (UNI) Haryana PWD Minister Ajay Singh Yadav today said the proposed Badarpur Flyover would be constructed at a cost of Rs 400 crore and the work on the project would be alloted within a fornight.
''The work on the ambitious project would start within next three months,'' the Minister said after attending a meeting of Ministers of Highways chaired by Union Minister for Shipping, Roads, Transport and Highways T R Balu at New Delhi today.
Capt Yadav urged Mr Balu to declare Jind-Bhiwani-Narnaul (upto NH 8) a national highway so that people could get better facilities of arteries. He also raised the issue of construction of foot over bridges for safety of pedestrian and under pass for slow moving traffic on expressways.
Capt Yadav said Mr Balu had assured him that the elevated highway on national highway No 1 at Panipat would be opened within next few days. He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would inaugurate the elevated highway.
The PWD Minister said National Highway Authority of India had also assured that detailed project report for national highway 71A Panipat-Rohtak section and NH71 Rohtak-Bawal Section had already been finalised and these both projects would be got approved from Public Private Partnership Committee.
He said bids would be invited for construction by the end of December.
