Itanagar, Jun 24 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has assured safe and early rescue of former Chief Minister Gegong Apang's son and his music teacher who were abducted by miscreants on June 18.
The Chief Minister also appealed the citizens to maintain calm and extend whole-hearted cooperation to the police.
Official sources said Mr Khandu held an emergency security meeting yesterday with the state Home Minister, Chief Secretary, Commissioner (Home) and DGP to review the current law and order scenario, after taking stock of the situation in the flood-affected areas in West Kameng and Tawang districts.
''No stone will be left unturned to rescue the former Chief Minister's son Getem Apang and his music teacher Narendra Rai,'' Mr Khandu said.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh unit of the BJP lambasted the Congress government for gradual deterioration of law and order in the state, demanding immediate resignation of the Home Minister on moral grounds.
