NCP burns Nitish in effigy
Patna, Jun 23 (UNI) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) activists today burnt the effigy of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to protest the ''failure'' of the NDA government on all fronts.
NCP state spokesman Mritunjay Kumar said here that the effigy of the Chief Minister was burnt to protest the ''failure'' of the NDA government, which had come to power in the state on ''tall'' promises of moving the state on the fast track of development.
Despite the promise of improving the law and order situation within three months of coming to power, the Nitish Kumar government had so far failed to check crimes in the state, he added.
Mr Kumar also criticised the attempt of the JD (U) to create obstruction in a noble way of protesting the ''failure'' of the Nitish Kumar government.
JD (U) workers tried to prevent the NCP workers from burning the effigy of Mr Kumar, he said, adding some of the party workers also sustained serious injuries in the incident.
An FIR was also lodged in this connection at Kotwali Police Station.
