London, June 23 : Spanish football giant Real Madrid have told England's Manchester United club that they are ready to pay whatever it takes to get Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to The Sun, Real Madrid has already offered 70-million pounds for Ronaldo, who is keen to join the Spaniards.
"For a player of this level we will pay what is necessary as, for us, what is important is to win the Champions League," the tabloid quoted Real Madrid Boss Bernd Schuster, as saying.
United, however, insisted that their star man will stay.
Madrid president Ramon Calderon said: "Once Ronaldo announces his future and once his club accept to sell him then we would have talks."
