Sirsa, Jun 23 (UNI) Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh today returned to his commune here amid tight security, three days after he became the centre of a fresh controversy following the killing of a Sikh protester by his bodyguard in Mumbai.

Ram Rahim, who was reportedly taken by the Karnataka Police to an ''undisclosed and safe destination'' in Mysore on his way back from Mumbai yesterday, took the local media unawares when he flew back to his Dera (commune) in a helicopter this afternoon.

His sudden return to the Dera was kept a hush-hush affair by the local administration, which called out two companies of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) to tighten the security around the commune and in the city. One company of the Border Security Force (BSF) and two companies of the Haryana Armed Police were already deployed in Sirsa.

Mediapersons were kept away during the arrival of the controversial Guru back to his Dera in the backdrop of widespread protests by Sikh activists in the region, who demanded his arrest in connection with the Mumbai incident.
