CPI to continue support to Pondy Govt: MLA
Puducherry, Jun 23: CPI National Council Member R Viswanathan, MLA, on Monday, June 23 said his party would continue to support the Government irrespective of any change in Chief Ministership.
Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Viswanathan said the party would intervene only to safeguard the government.
Stating that the Congress itself had to shoulder responsibility for the present crisis, Mr Viswanathan said it was up to them to decide on any change in the Chief Ministership.
The Left Party's only concern was schemes which were being hindered because of the developments, he claimed.
Mr Viswanathan said the party through its National Secretary D Raja had already handed over a letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi stating there was no unity among the rulers here and the governance was not satisfactory.
Stating that the union territory was facing severe financial crisis, Mr Viswanathan said schemes were evolved with the intention to execute by obtaining loans from World Bank and HUDCO.
Clarifying that he had questioned the functioning of two Parliament members only in interest of the welfare of the people here, Mr Viswanathan said individual criticism in retaliation of something by the office bearers of the two parties cannot be termed as civilised politics.
