South-East monsoon continues to be weak over K'taka
Bangalore, Jun 22 (UNI) The South-East monsoon, which set in three days in advance over the Karnataka coast early this month but weakened within a week, continued to be weak over the State.
According to officials at the Regional Centre of the Meteorological Department here, the monsoon remained weak over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Dence cloud formations were expected during the next two or three days, bringing more rains over the coastal and South interior districts of the state, they said.
Bajpe near Mangalore received the highest rainfall of five cm, while Sambre, Virajpet and Humchadakatte in the Ghat areas of the State got three cm of rainfall each during the last 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka during the next two days, the officials added.
