Nagpur, Jun 22 (UNI) Film actor Ritesh Deshmukh has said producing remakes of old movies was all right as long as the new version was entertaining.
Speaking to reporters here today, Ritesh said although original scripts were always welcome, there was nothing wrong in remaking old movies.
''I made my debut with a film that was the Hindi remake of a south Indian film,'' he said. However, if the audiences complained about it, then the trend ought to be arrested, he said.
Ritesh said he would do a Marathi film if he found a good script.
Some producers had approached him with offers, but the scripts were not worth it, he said, without naming anyone. He had no plans to do any south Indian film because of the 'language problem,' the film star, who was in the city to promote his latest movie 'De Taali,' said.
Replying to questions, Ritesh said that he is doing a romantic film, titled 'Jaane Kahaan Se Aai,' where he is playing the sole lead role. The leading lady for the film has, however, not been found yet, he said.
In reply to another question, Ritesh said that Shahrukh Khan was his favourite actor and that Kareena Kapoor was his 'current favourite' among the Bollywood ladies. When asked, why his name had not been linked with any of his female co-stars, Ritesh quipped, ''You journalists please do it!'' Ritesh said, he had no plans to do movies in Hollywood, adding in a lighter vein that there were several Hollywood actresses, with whom he would like to work.
