Haryana to develop 75 industrially backward blocks

Rohtak, Jun 22 (UNI) The Haryana government has declared about 75 developmend blocks in the state as industrially backward and steps would be taken to promote industrial development in this blocks.

This was announced by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing a gathering of the people after unveiling the foundation stone of the new plant of the Asian Paints at the industrial model township here today.

Pointing out that unemployment and shortage of power supply were two main concerns of the state government, the chief minister said that he was of the firm opinion that unemployment problem can afectively be tackled through rapid industrialisation.

The Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Asian Paints informed that the project cost for the 1.5 lakh kilo litre capacity plant would beRrs 4400 crore and it was expected to start production by early 2010. The plant to be located on 130 acres of land, would provide direct employment to around 300 people and to over 600 people indirectly.
