5 policemen sent to jail in UP
Siddharthnagar, Jun 22: Altogether five policemen were sent to jail for their involvement in criminal activities in Sant Kabirnagar and Basti districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Basti range, K K Tripathi today told the sources that constables Munnobar Beg, Ramjeet Raj and Siyaram were apprehended over a criminal's escape from Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Sant Kabirnagar district yesterday.
Whereas, constables Rajendra Yadav and Vidya Prasad were accused of illicit extraction of money from truck drivers in Basti district, he said.
The accused cops have already been suspended and a case registered against then, he added.
