20 kilograms of explosives detected in Jammu and Kashmir
Doda (Jammu and Kashmir), June 22 : Security forces here on Saturday detected 20 kilograms of Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted by militants.
Security men with the help of sniffer dogs unearthed the IED, planted in the middle of the road.
Superintendent of Police (Operation) in Doda, Randeep Kumar said that as per preliminary investigation, the explosives were planted by suspected Lashker-e-Taiba militant.
Swinging into action, the Army cordoned off the area and traffic was suspended temporarily till the officials defused the IED.
Officials said that the militants were attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere and create terror among the villagers.
Search operations are on for the militants in the adjoining forest area.
