Student, body fished out from Jehlum after 6 days
Baramulla Jun 21 (UNI) Body of an engineering student, who was drowned in river Jehlum at Uri on June 16, was recovered today, official sources said.
They said body of Nazir Ahmad Mir, a final year engineering student was fished out at Paranpera at Uri.
Mir and another student Basharat Nabi Sheikh were drowned in the Jehlum near NHPC power house.
There was still no trace of Sheikh, they said, adding that search was going on.
The authorities have also made a formal request to the Pakistan Army to help search the body of Sheikh in their area.
The authorites believed that body of Sheikh might have entered Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
Last month, a driver was also drowned in the river and his body was recovered in the POK by the Pak Army. Later the body was handed over to the Indian Army near the LoC.
