Rs one cr allocated for Anganwadi toys in Haryana
Chandigarh, Jun 21 (UNI) Haryana government has earmarked Rs one crore under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) for purchasing toys and swings for all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) of the state for the current financial year.
Stating this here yesterday, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Kartar Devi said under the scheme, Rs 5000 would be provided to each AWCs across the state to purchase toys and swings for children.
The Minister said the government had decided to construct Mahila Chaupals in every village of the state in a phased manner.
She said these Mahila Chaupals would be named as Mahila Shakti Sadans. These would be equipped with library, furniture, computer and stationary and would help in addressing the gender needs of the village women.
She said Mahila Shakti Sadan would be a common centre of various activities like women empowerment, awareness generation, training camps, meeting and celebrations. These activities would be organised by Sakshar Mahila Samoohs, Village Level Committees, government agencies, Women Self Groups or other such organisations, she added.
