Jaipur, Jun 21 (UNI) A warm welcome was accorded to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on her arrival in the Pink City this afternoon, on a two day visit to Rajasthan.
Ms Patil reached the Sanganer Airport here from Jodhpur by a special Indian Air Force plane around 1620 hrs. Governor Shailendra Kumar Singh, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and several dignitaries were present at the airport to receive the President.
Earlier, Ms Patil arrived at Jodhpur from New Delhi this morning. She inaugurated a school premises in Loradi Daijagra at Jodhpur-Jaisalmer Road, participated in programmes organised to commemorate renowned Jurist and MP late Laxmi Mall Singhvi's social services.
Later, the President would inaugurate Shekhwati Center in the state capital here this evening. Rajasthan Governor, along with Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma and Union Mines Minister Shish Ram Ola, would also participate in the programme.
Tomorrow morning, the President would proceed for Jhunjhunu to participate in a programme, being organised to felicitate ex-servicemen near Jhunjhunu.
On returning from Jhunjhunu, Ms Patil would unveil Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue here and meet Jain spiritual leader Acharya Mahapragya and return to Delhi later in the evening.
