Pak foreign office denies leaking N-designs to other nations
Islamabad, June 21 : Pakistan's Foreign Office has reportedly denied of having leaked any nuclear design to other nations.
It also rejected a recent media report claiming that a nuclear bomb design obtained from Tinners of Switzerland was identical to a Pakistani design provided by Dr AQ Khan, better known as Pakistan's father of nuclear programme.
"This conjecture is surprising as no foreigner has any access to Pakistan's nuclear designs. It is not understood how anyone could reach such a conclusion," the Daily Times quoted a FO spokesman as saying in a statement released in Islamabad.
The spokesman also said that Dr Khan's case was a closed chapter and that he could not indulge in nuclear proliferation as he was without any official status now.
"All information of the case has already been shared with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and there is no new development in this context," he added.
In 2004 Dr Khan had confessed of transferring sensitive technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea, a statement which he had later denied.
