Land allotment to ''ineligible'' should be stopped: TDP
Kakinada, JuN 21 (UNI) TDP politbureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today threatened that the party would resort to an agitation if Kakinada port land allotment to ''ineligible'' was not cancelled.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that most of the 54 companies, which were allotted the port lands, had nothing to do with port or port-related activity.
Mr Ramakrishnudu, who is also the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, said as the party was now busy with organising TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu's 'mee kosam' tour in East Godavari District, they would take up the agitation on land allotment affair during the second week of July.
''We will not leave even the lands allotted to Reliance company in Gadimoga area. The Government should immediately cancel the lands allotment to the ''ineligible'' and re-allot the same to the genuine port users, paving the way for speedy development of the port,'' he said.
On the issue of Telangana, he said being a member of the five-member committee, he was bound by the party's directive and would not answer any question on this subject.
However, he clarified that one could not draw a parallel line between the Pranab Mukherjee committee and the TDPs five-member committee. The committee would certainly give its report at the earliest, he added.
