Puducherry, Jun 21 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today said the Congress high command is fully satisfied with the functioning of the government in the Union Territory.
Talking to newspersons, Mr Rangasamy, who reached here early this morning from New Delhi, after a trip to the capital following a summon from the party high command, said he had called on Home Minister and Home Secretary in the capital and discussed with them the matters pertaining to the implementation of developmental schemes in the Union Territory.
He urged them to post IAS officers with a possitive approach for the development of Puducherry, he added.
Refuting the reported statements by Welfare Minister M Kandasamy that the Union Territory was reeling under a financial crunch to the tune Rs 2,000 crore, the Chief Minister said, ''there is no financial crunch,'' adding that only recently Budget was presented and the funds would have to be collected.
When asked about the rumours of his resignation, Mr Rengasamy said, ''rumours should not be believed.'' UNI PAB SW NS1605
