Kathmandu, June 21 : The daylong talks held among the leaders of seven parties ended without producing any result.

The meeting ended inconclusively on Saturday evening, after eight hours of marathon talks. The leaders parted ways agreeing to meet again on Sunday morning.

The senior leaders of seven parties could not finalise understanding on issues such as power-sharing, who gets to become president, constitution amendment, make up of constitutional council and security council, provision on forming, dislodging government, army integration, YCL management and so on.

According to Nepalnews, at the meeting, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala told leaders that he wanted politics of consensus and understanding to continue.

According to Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bimalendra Nidhi, the PM said he was ready to clear the way for new government based on understanding.

The issues that have proved to be particularly sticky include power-sharing over who gets to become president.

PM Koirala is also learnt to have asked the Maoist ministers to withdraw their joint resignation, which was submitted at the seven party meeting on Friday.
