Srinagar, Jun 21 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (M), Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and Democratic Party (DP) today demanded immediate removal of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Dr Arun Kumar for hurting the sentiments of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir.
In a joint statement here this evening, CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, PDF chief Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and DP president Ghulam Hassan Mir rejected the constitution of three-member committee to analyse the press conference of Dr Kumar.
It will cause further delay, they said, adding the matter was very important which required immediate action from the government.
The leaders said Dr Kumar has not only exceeded his limits, but hurt the sentiments of the people.
They said government should act swiftly and remove Dr Kumar with immediate effect.
Dr Kumar had allegedly made some comments on Cabinet and Ministers on transfer of forest land to SASB on June 17 at a press conference, leading to protests from almost all mainstream, separatists and militant outfits.
The government had recently transferred about 80 kanals of land to SASB at Domail and Baltal for construction of temporary shelters for the Amarnath pilgrims.
