Chargesheet filed in ACP Rajbir Singh murder case
New Delhi, Jun 21 (UNI) The CBI today filed a chargesheet in the ACP Rajbir Singh murder case and the court summoned the accused to appear before it on June 30.
The chargesheet was filed at the Special Judicial Magistrate CBI court in Ambala under Section 302 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of the Indian Arms Act 1959, said the CBI here.
The court also summoned the accused Vishal Bhardwaj to appear before it on June 30.
During investigations it was found that the weapon used to kill the ACP was the same revolver lost by a DCP of the Haryana Police during an encounter on July 21, 2007, in district Bhiwani.
Investigations are being carried out to find how did the weapon lost by the Haryana DCP reach the hands of accused Vishal Bhardwaj.
ACP Rajbir Singh was shot dead on March 24 this year and an FIR was registered on March 27.
Subsequently, accused Vishal Bhardwaj was arrested and the case transferred to the CBI on June 2 and on the same day the agency registered a case in this regard.
During investigations the CBI examined 125 witnesses and gathered forensic and other proofs on the basis of forensic tests, oral communication and circumstantial evidence which established that accused Vishal Bhardwaj had shot at and killed ACP Rajbir Singh with a .32 revolver.
