Bangalore, Jun 21 (UNI) BJP state unit president D V Sadananda Gowda today confirmed that Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has developed differences with Congress top leaders, had met national leaders of his party.
He told reporters here that he had received the news of Mr Siddaramaiah meeting the national leaders of BJP but was not clear whether it was in connection with joining the party.
He said Mr Siddaramaiah was welcome to join BJP if he was ready to abide by the principles of the party.
''BJP would make good use of Mr Siddaramaiah by giving him a significant position in the party and not neglect him like Congress,'' he said.
Mr Siddaramaiah is reported to have expressed his displeasure over the Congress party's refusal to offer him the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly and its plan to merge an alliance with JD(S) in Lok Sabha polls.
