Tarzan's Cheeta fails to bag star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Washington, Jun 20 : Cheeta, the male chimpanzee who starred in the films 'Tarzan' and 'Bedtime For Bonzo', has been denied a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Movie buffs campaigning for the 76-years-old chimp star were hoping that he would be granted a special spot on Hollywood Boulevard in 2009, in recognition of his glittering film career, reports Contactmusic.
However, Cheeta failed to attract enough votes to get him a star, said a TMZ report.
Cheeta, who started his movie career in the Thirties, holds the Guinness record for being the oldest chimp.
He became famous on the back of Tarzan movies, and retired after his last movie Doctor Dolittle with Rex Harrison in 1967.
