Six people arrested, released on bail of Rs 5000 each
Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) As many as six people, who were arrested for creating disturbance at Congress President Sonia Gandhi's rally at the National Sports Complex Ground, Goregaon, were released on bail by a local court today.
The six, arrested last evening, were identified as Afzal Gafoor Chandel, Siddharth Bhosale, Chetan Mahebriya, Prasant Sudhakar, Vinod Jadhav and Bablu Dube, police said.
They were booked under sections 417, 143, 146, 147, 323 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
All the accused were produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S R Kadam, Borivali court, who remanded them to Judicial Custody till July 4.
However, the defence advocate immediately moved a bail application and the court released them on bail of Rs 5000 each.
The accused raised slogans against Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and thereafter allegedly threw plastic chairs, police said.
Four other persons were also detained yesterday immediately after the incident, but police allowed them to go home after penalising them.
