Dehradun, Jun 20 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri has reshuffled his Cabinet in which he has retained 27 departments with him.
According to a government release yesterday, the Chief Minister was earlier looking after 37 departments. Maj Gen(retd) Khanduri will be incharge of Home, Law, General Administration, Finance, Trade, Higher Education, Public Works, Information and Soldiers Welfare departments among others, the realease added.
Tax and Disaster Management Departments have been taken from Mr Divakar Bhatt (Uttarakhand Kranti Dal) and he has been given Urban Development Ministry. Planning and Outside Funded Projects Department has been given to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant.
Minister for Panchayati Raj Bishan Singh Chupal has been given additional responsibility of Social Welfare Department. Primary Education has been given to Health Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal while Women Empowerment and Child Development Department has been given to Irrigation Minister Matwar Singh.
Ajay Tamta has been given responsibility of Civil Defence and Homeguard Department.
Uttarakhand Cabinet has 11 Cabinet Ministers including the Chief Minister and one Minister of State.
