Nuke deal with USA against interest of the country-Sharad
Supaul, Jun 20 (UNI) JD(U) president Sharad Yadav today criticised the Indo-US nuke deal saying that once the deal was signed it would be against the interest of the country.
Addressing the district level workers meet of the party Mr Yadav said here that the UPA government was advocating in favour of the deal on the plea that it would cater the energy needs of the country. However, it would not be able to cater even 3.5 per cent of the countrys need after 20 years from now, he said. The Centre was only interested to encash political mileage from the deal in the Lok Sabha elections, he observed.
Mr Yadav lauded the efforts of the state government saying that the Nitish Kumar government had lived up to its promises of development made during the Assembly polls. Significant improvement in the filed of health, law and order, education, roads, drinking water and other infrastructures had been made during a brief period of two and half years of the government in Bihar, he added.
Expressing concern over the skyrocketting prices, Mr Yadav said it was all due to the faulty policies of the Centre.
