Nepal's Maoist ministers tender resignation at seven party meeting
Kathmandu, June 20 : The ministers belonging to Nepal's Maoist party have tendered joint resignation at the seven party meeting today.
They resigned in the face of lack of progress on the continuing consultations among the political parties over power-sharing and other issues.
According to Nepalnews, they had already tendered the joint resignation to their party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' last week.
The seven party meeting held at Baluwatar ended inconclusively today.
The bitterness among the parties has grown over the issue of who gets to become the first president of the republic Nepal.
The decision by Maoists and Unified Marxist-Leninist (UML) to back each other's candidate for the position of prime minister and president, respectively, has raised the hackles of the Nepali Congress (NC).
