Five govt officials convicted in a fodder scam case
Ranchi, Jun 20 (UNI) The designated CBI court today order rigorous imprisonment varying between three to five years to five government officials convicting them in a multi-crore fodder scam case unearthed during undivided Bihar.
The court also slapped fine ranging between Rs 40,000 to nine lakh in connection with RC-39A/96 related with the fradulently withdrawing of about Rs 1.4 crore from Dumka treasury.
The court of Sanjay Prasad, special judge CBI passed the judgment.
Yesterday, the court had sentenced 15 people to three to seven years of rigorous in the same case.
Altogether 46 people were made accused out of which 4 died during the trial, 3 became government approver, 3 of them pleaded guilty, 3 female accused were enlarged on bail, one was acquitted and two were still absconding.
About 15 of the accused included senior government officers.
The quantum of punishement for the remainig ten of them would be annonuced tomorrow. The government officials were booked under prevention of corruption Act.
This was the 24th case in three years in which judgment was delivered.
