Puducherry, Jun 20 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who had rushed to New Delhi on urgent summons from AICC was camping in the national Capital for the second day today, triggering speculations of a poltical crisis here.
Amid speculation that Mr Rangasamy may be removed from the post of the Chief Minister in the wake of the banner of revolt raised by his cabinet colleagues, political sources here said that AICC Secretary Arun Kumar and Mr Vayalar Ravi had 'grilled' Mr Rangasamy today over the alleged administerative lapses.
Mr Rangasamy had reportedly sought one week time to set things right and is expected back here tonight, the sources said.
Political sources here feel that Mr Rangasamy may not be able to convince the ministers who had revolted, as they will not turn up for any meeting with the Chief Minister, and Mr Rangasamy may be forced to quit.
The relations between the Chief Minister and his Cabinet Colleagues had soured with the former concentrating more on his Thattanchavady constituency. The ministers declared non-cooperation and the intervention of the AICC was needed to convene the Cabinet meeting and Assembly Session.
The intervention of Union Minister V Narayansami in the issue and he obtaining the details of those, who got government employment and other benefits from Thattanchavady constituency during the Rangasamy regime and forwarding it to the AICC put the Chief Minister in a fix.
