Tripura, June 14, 2008: Thousands of families along the Indo-Bangladesh border have been displaced as the Indian authorities seal porous Indo-Bangladesh border. The authorities are on a drive to fence the 865 kilometres long border.
This move has been advocated by Tripura"s state government to counter the decade old problem of insurgency. However, around 800 whose land and homes fall along the wire fence have become homeless.
