South-west monsoon vigorous
Pune, June 19 (UNI) The southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Gangetic West Bengal and east Madhya Pradesh and active in Kerala.
It has been subdued in West Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Marathwada and Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
In the regions where the southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, the day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal as also some parts of Rajasthan.
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in West Bengal, Sikkim, north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh, south Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places in south Orissa, Vidarbha, Andaman and Nicobar Lakshadweep and at isolated places in west Rajasthan, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseeema, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in East Madhya Pradesh and at many places in West Uttar Pradesh.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan and Goa, Rayalaseema and Andaman and Nicobar and at isolated places in Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
