London, June 19 : Sienna Miller has confirmed that she has signed on to play Maid Marian in the upcoming Ridley Scott film 'Nottingham', a revisionist version of the classic Robin Hood tale.
The British actress will star alongside Russell Crowe, who is expected to play the Sheriff of Nottingham.
"It's happening. I just found out. It's the most exciting news in the world," BBC quoted Miller, as saying.
"It's ridiculous. But there's this looming actor's strike, so it's not 100% sure that it's going to be made, but it's looking pretty certain," she added.
She further said that she "could not have a better part" and working with Crowe and Ridley was "as good as it gets".
The movie is a twist on the classic story, with the Sheriff of Nottingham cast as a sympathetic figure up against a not-so-heroic Robin Hood.
Crowe and Sir Ridley worked together on the 2000 movie Gladiator, in which the actor won an Oscar for his role as Maximus.
