Rains continue to lash HP: Shimla receives 38.6 mm rainfall

Shimla, Jun 19 (UNI) The monsoon brought incessant rains to all mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs.

The sky over the capital town and other adjoining areas remained under a thick layer of clouds and experienced intermittent rains this afternoon. The town was lashed with 38.6 mm rainfall.

Dharamshala recorded a rainfall of 71.2 mm while Mandi town and Sundernagar recorded rainfall of 50.4 mm and 22.3 mm, the Met office said.

Meanwhile, the day and night temperatures across the state rose by a few notches. Shimla recorded the maximum temperature at 21.1 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 29.0 degrees, Bunter 29.2 degrees, Kalpa 20.9 degrees and Dharamshala 24.2 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature of ''Queen of all hill station'' was recorded at 16.3 degrees celsius, whereas Sundernagar recorded 21.1 degrees, Bhunter 20.2 degrees, Kalpa 11.5 degrees, Dharamshala 18.7 degrees, Una 21.8 degrees, Nahan 22.7 degrees and Mandi 23.1 degrees Celsius.

The Met office has also forecast rain or thundershowers at many places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
