ONGC Mumbai beat Mandi Eleven by six goals

Mandi, Jun 19 (UNI) Oil-and Natural Gas Commission, Mumbai, defeated Mandi Eleven 6-0 to qualify for the quarter finals of the 37th All India Hot Weather Football Tournament in this district today.

All the goals were scored in the first half. Three of the goals were netted by Malsaw Dong while Amandeep, Naresh and Murli were the other goal-geters.

Mandi goalkeeper Sumit Sen brought off a few fine saves and, in fact, he was the most impressive player of the match. Another home team player Javed Akhtar, a junior national star, was unable to distinguish himself in view of the one-sided nature of the encounter.

In another match, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala beat Uttrakhand Police by three goals to nil. Two goals came in the first session.

Amrinder Singh scored the first goal in the 17th minutes and five minutes later Pankaj scored the second goal. Pankaj later struck the third goal in the 60th minute.
