Chandigarh, Jun 19 (UNI) The Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi will present Bhai Santokh Singh Award, carrying a cash component of Rs one lakh, to Dr Rajinder Singh Bhatti.
Giving this information here today, Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi Director C R Mudgil said Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the Chief Guest in the annual award distribution function of the Akademi on June 24. Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta will preside over the function.
Mr Mudgil said Baba Sheikh Award, amounting to Rs 51,000, would be given to Dr G D Chaudhary of Sirsa while Saint Taran Singh Vehmi Award, carrying a cash amount of Rs 51,000, would be given to Amrik Singh of Sirsa.
He said that Lok Gayak Puruskar of Rs 21,000 would be given to Vinod Sehgal of Ambala.
Besides, an amount of Rs 21,000 each for book writing would be given to renowned writers like Kulwant Chawla, Kabal Singh Virk, Dr Narwinder Kaushal, Gurdas Singh Palna, Kesra Ram, Singh and Jiwan Bakshi.
