Jaipur, Jun 19 (UNI) The traffic on the busy Delhi, Mumbai rail route via Bayana, Sawai Madhopur and Kota resumed after 28 days today with agitating Gujjars lifting their dharna from the tracks at Pillukapura-Karwadi near Bayana.
The dharna, which had blocked the busy rail route since May 23, ended after Gujjar leader Col (retd) Kirori Singh Bainsla's announcement about the signing of the accord over Gujjars' demands which included ST status.
After lifting of the dharna, railway authorities immediately swung into action and repaired the tracks within eight hours.
Later, first two trains Sawai Madhopur-bound 152 Mathura Sawai Madhopur Passenger train and Bayana-bound 83 Kota Bayana Passenger train were cleared on the section.
The Gujjar protesters also lifted their dharna and/or road blockades from Sikandara, Kushalipura (Sawai Madhopur) and elsewhere in the state.
