Bhubaneswar, Jun 19 (UNI) Several long distance trains were cancelled for the third day today while many were either short terminated or diverted following breaches caused by flash floods in Orissa.
East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said all Howrah bound trains from Puri such as 2838 Puri-Howrah Express, 8410 Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express, 2896 Puri-Howrah Weekly Express, including Haridwar bound 8477 Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express, were cancelled for the third day today.
The 8304 Puri-Sambalpur Intercity Express has also been cancelled due to traffic congestion at Sambalpur.
Similarly, 2663 Howrah-Tiruchirapalli Express,467 Howrah-Bhadrak Passenger, 8409 Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express 2847 Howrah- Vaskodagama Express, 201 Howrah-Puri Passenger,2703 Howrah- Secunderabad Falaknuma Express leaving Howrah and 2660 Shalimar Nagercoil Gurudev Express leaving Shalimar were cancelled today.
This apart the 2872 Sambalpur-Howrah Ispat Express, 8303 Sambalpur-Puri Inter city Express leaving Sambalpur,the 8006 Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express leaving Rayagada and the 2509 Bangalore-Guwahati Express have been cancelled today.
The ECoR has made arrangement to divert the 2801 Puri-New Delhi Purusottam Express via Cuttack-Angul-Jharsuguda-Rourkela and Chakradharpur instead of its original path.
Similarly, the 2864 Yeshvantpur-Howrah will run via Ballarshah-Bilaspur-Jharsuguda and Tata instead of its scheduled path.
The 2871 Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express has been short terminated at Rourkela and returned back as 2872 Sambalpur-Howrah Ispat Express from Rourkela to Howrah. The 8006 Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express also short terminated at Rayagada and returned back to Koraput.
