Flood disrupts SER train services

Kolkata, Jun 19 (UNI) South Eastern Railway's train services via Kharagpur-Bhadrak line from Howrah will remain cancelled for next two days following floods in Medinipur district and precarious condition of a bridge in West Midnapur district.

"No train will run via Kharagpur-Bhadrak line from Howrah on June 19, 20 and 21," an SER communique today said.

Altogether 13 long-distance trains were today cancelled, two short terminated and as many diverted due to floods and damages of bridge No 168 between Narayangarh and Bakhrabad in West Midnapur.

The cancelled trains are 8409 Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express, 2847 Howrah-Vasco-da-Gama Amaravathi Express, 8645 Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express, 2837/2838 Howrah-Puri Express, 2821/2822 Howrah-Bhubaneswar Dhauli Express, 2841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express, 2703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express and 8005 Howrah-Koraput Express.

The 2839 Howrah-Chennai Mail was diverted via Kharagpur-Tata-Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vizianagaram- Visakhapatnam, and the 2814 Tata-Howrah Steel Express was short terminated at Kharagpur and would run as 2813 from Kharagpur to Tata.
