Fighting Saina goes down at Indonesia Super Series

Jakarta, Jun 19 (UNI) A fighting Saina Nehwal squandered a 1-0 lead before losing her second round encounter to third seed Pi Hongyan of France to bow out of the women's singles event at the Indonesia Super Series here today.

Saina outgunned her opponent 21-12 in the first set. However, Hongyan bounced back to claim the next two sets 21-18, 21-16 to clinch the issue.

With Saina's defeat, the Indian challenge at the competition came to an end since both Anup Sridhar and Arvind Bhat had lost their first round matches in the men's singles event yesterday.
