EPIC issue process resumes in AP

Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) The process of issuing Electoral Photo Identity cards (EPIC) to all 5.45 crore voters resumed with Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao holding a meeting with joint-collectors, the nodal officers for issue of EPIC.

Participating in the meeting, Mr Rao asked the joint collectors to ensure the enumeration of householders were carried out in a foolproof manner to minimise errors.

The issue of EPIC would be completed by August end in all the constituencies except in districts where byelections were held last month, he said, adding the process would be completed a month later in the other districts.

Terming as unfortunate complaints received during the recent byelections about discrepencies in mismatch of names and related data on the EPIC cards, he appealed to the citizens to look into draft electoral rolls and initiate corrective measures with the joint collectors concerned.
