Pathanamthitta, Jun 19 (UNI) The Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala was closed today, marking the culmination of the five-day-long 'poojas'in the Malayalam Month of 'Midhunam.' Melsanthi T K Krishnan Nampoothiri closed the sanctum sanctorum amidst singing of divine lullaby 'Harivarasanam' after 'Atha Pooja.' The five-day 'Rigveda Leksharchana' which was held at 'Sannidhanam' after a gap of 18 years came to a close today.
The rare ritual began on the first day of 'Midhunam.' As many as 22 vedic Pandits drawn from Malappuram, Palakkad and Thrissur districts did the chanting of vedic hymns during the ritual.
The 'Brahmakalasam' was taken in a colourful procession to the sanctum sanctorum prior to the 'Uchapooja.' Tantri Kantararu Maheswararu performed the 'Brahma Kalasabhishekam.' UNI XR CR VV SV KN2022
