Gwalior, June 18 (UNI) A workshop would be organised soon in state capital to define poverty and to set parameters, Madhya Pradesh Commission for Economically Backward among the General Catagory President Babulal Jain said.
Mr Jain said to the mediapersons here yesterday that the workshop would held at last week of June or first week of July. More than 25 of intellectuals had been invited. Former president APJ Abdul Kalam was likely to be present during the workshop.
''The parameters of poverty would be set in the workshop,'' he said, adding that he visited different districts and invited suggestions from the public representatives and intellects about poverty.
He said that on the basis of these suggestions some points have been prepared and submitted to the state government. Later, a five-member committee has been constituted.
''I am in the support of providing 'shelter' not 'reservation' to the poor of general section and commission will adopt necessary steps towards it,'' Mr Jain added.
