Racket for illegal transport of Gold, Silver thru Rlys busted

New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a racket relating to the illegal transport of gold and silver through the Railways and arrested three persons in this connection.

The police also recovered silver, gold and cash worth Rs 50 lakh from their possession.

Based on a information that jewellery and cash is send by many traders outside Delhi by trains through lease holders, the police arrested the trio during surprise raids at the Old Delhi railway station.

The persons were found to be in possession of gunny bags containing gold and jewellery, which was being send outside the city mixed with big parcels of garments.

About 267 kg of silver ornaments, 685 kg of gold biscuits and cash were recovered from the possession of the accused.
