Raipur, Jun 18 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced that honorarium of about 14,000 'kotwars' would be doubled.
''Besides, every 'kotwar' would be provided a bicycle, torch, shoes and uniform within two months,'' Dr Singh said, while addressing regional convention of the Kotwar Sangh here last night.
He announced that a member of the dependent family would be immediately provided job on sympathetic grounds in case of death of a 'kotwar' in violence or accident.
Honorarium of 'kotwars' with service area of more than 10 acre land would be increased from Rs 420 to Rs 1,000, while that of 'kotwars' with service area of 3-7.5 acre land would be increased from Rs 150 to Rs 1,500.
Likewise, honorarium of 'kotwars' with service area of up to 3.5 acre would be increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1,800. Honorarium of 'kotwars' with no service area would be increased from Rs 1,020 to Rs 2,000.
Dr Singh said the increase in honorarium would be implemented from August 1 after the first supplementary budget was passed in the next Vidhan Sabha session.
