Copper heavy and Copper utensils move up
Mumbai, Jun 18 (UNI) Copper heavy, copper utensils and brass cuttings in ferrous metals category advanced today on higher advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
Copper utensils and brass cuttings soared by Rs 300 and ended at Rs 33,800 and 26,500 per quintal due to reduced stock supply from stockists. Copper heavy also shot up by Rs 100 and finished at Rs 37,600 per quintal owing to fresh buying support by stockists.
Brass utensils and aluminium utensils remained flat on scattered buying by stockists, traders said.
In non-ferrous metals, lead ingot, tin slab and nickel cathode showed upward trend on strong advice from London Metal Exchange.
Lead ingot inched up by Rs 100 per quintal and ended at Rs 10,500 per quintal due to better buying support.
Tin slab and nickel cathode also improved by Rs 10 per kg each due to improved demand and closed at Rs 1,145 and Rs 1,250 per kg traders added.
Copper wire bars, aluminium ingot and zinc slab remained unchanged because of moderate demand by stockists, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,600, copper utensils - Rs 33,800, brass utensils - Rs 25,100, brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,300.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 41,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,600, zinc slab - Rs 10,100, lead ingots - Rs 10,500, tin slab - Rs 1,145 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,250 per kg.
